– Riebeeckrand High School held its annual fair in the school hall.

– Two qualified trauma nurses, Sarah Marais and Lesley McCagh, were part of the Radio 702 Trafficopter team.

– Ackermans had a crazy winter sale where you could buy slippers for only R3,99.

– Residents were angry about people racing in the streets of Randfontein after a motorcyclist, who was still in school, died in an accident.

– A local soccer team won 3–2 against Sturrockpark and Randfontein also beat Wits with a 1–0 score.

– The famous The Terminator movie as well as You’re In The Movies screened at the local cinema.
