Lenmed spends 67 minutes at Setholela Primary School

The Setholele Primary School in Wheatlands was happy to receive some help and donations for Mandela Day.

Lenmed Randfontein Private Hospital reached out to the Setholele Primary School in Wheatlands as part of their Mandela Day celebrations.

The school welcomed the hospital staff with big smiles and open arms. The children danced, sang and read a poem in Madiba’s honour.

Ofentse Pharumele, the client relations officer at the hospital, said, “Mandela Day and Month is one of the most important events on our calendar. We go all out on Mandela Day and all of the staff were excited about visiting the school.”

The hospital staff donated paint, soup, school shoes, groceries and toiletries to the school. They also donated a few first aid kits. Lasie Daniels, the principal of the school, was happy to accept the donations.

Some parents helped the hospital staff paint the classrooms while others cleaned storerooms. Each person received a warm meal and a few snacks.

Leoni Beaurain, the hospital manager, said that this will not be the last time that the school will see the hospital. “Madiba is still special to all of us in the country and this is our way of honouring him. We will be doing more things for this school this year. This is just our starting point,” she said.
