Get to know a ‘Teiner’ #73 – Thokozani Mbutshe

The 73rd person in the Herald’s Get to know a Randfonteiner project introduces himself.

Thokozani Mbutshe is a man who wears many hats.

Born in Diepkloof, Soweto, Thokozani has been a Randfonteiner for over 25 years and said there is no place like home – Randfontein.

The 32-year-old said he lives for fun and work.

“I am also an aspiring professional actor and have many abilities that entertain people,” Thokozani said.

He said for the past five years, he has been working at Lombard Tyres, where he has managed to interact with people from many different walks of life. He added that even though he spends most of time at work, nothing could make him prouder than helping his customers with their vehicles.

“From fitting tyres to wheel alignment, that is all I do. I love my job, because it keeps me busy and helps me stay focused. Some of the principles that I live by, help me get up and face everything in life head-on, which is something that I want to tell people about, especially the youth who are trapped by the scourge of drugs.”

Thokozani went on to say that his other dream is bringing about the betterment of society through his talks.

He said the things that bother him most are the use of drugs among the youth, and crime in South Africa.

“When I get time, I give talks to empower the youth, helping them not to waste their futures,” Thokozani said.
