A 12-year-old boy was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after he allegedly fell off the back of a bakkie in Westonaria on the afternoon of Wednesday, 4 July.
Ineke van Huyssteen, ER24 spokesperson, said when ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 3pm, they found the child lying on the road.

“Upon further assessment, paramedics found that he had sustained serious injuries. He was transported to hospital for further medical care.”
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to the paramedics.
