Fifteen arrested for dagga, Mandrax and CAT

Randfontein Police's crime prevention operation which took place in the Randfontein area last Friday resulted in the arrest of 15 suspects.

The Randfontein Police’s crime prevention operation which took place in the Randfontein area on Friday, 29 June resulted in the arrest of 15 suspects.

All these arrests were made within the space of three hours. Fourteen suspects, ranging in age from 18 to 48 were arrested for drug-related crimes.

“The suspects were found in possession of substances such as dagga, Mandrax, and CAT,” said Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson.

The fifteenth arrestee, a 38-year-old man, was arrested for driving under the influence of an intoxicating substance.

“Operations of this nature were conducted throughout the weekend,” added Colonel Rand Makgatho, acting Randfontein Police station commander.
