• Until 15 July: Dinosaurs of the Lost World at Cradlestone Mall

Something big and exciting is coming to Cradlestone Mall this winter! In conjunction with the cinema release of Jurassic World 3, prehistoric creatures will come alive as they bring the Dinosaurs of the Lost World to the mall, just in time for the chilly school holidays. You and the kids can take a close look at a massive and mesmerising T-Rex dinosaur display in the open parking area and 24 other animatronic dinosaurs throughout the mall. They also have a variety of dinosaur-themed activities perfect for all ages, including live augmented reality, dinosaur rides and selfie opportunities inside dino eggs. But the list of dino fun doesn’t end there! There’ll be hands-on activities such as fossil digging and displays, an interactive play gym, online tablet games and even dinosaur face-painting. • 29 June: Do you have the best boerewors?

Entries for the 2018 Championship Boerewors competition are open and with a new competition structure in place, it is now even more accessible for those with a special recipe for traditional boerewors up their sleeves. Boerewors enthusiasts who believe that their recipe has what it takes are invited to enter before Friday, 29 June to stand a chance of being crowned the 2018 champion. • 30 June: Weet Jou Ma Jy Spin 2018 (Second Annual Spin Family Fun Day) in Westonaria

Join in on an incredible event ideal for the whole family at Lido Country Lodge in Jachtfontein, Westonaria on 30 June. There will be entertainment all around, music, spinning cars, beer garden, live performances, dance battle, go-karting, horse and pony rides, kiddies play area, face painting, photo booths and so much more. • 30 June: Fun Walk for a good cause in Randfontein

Dynamic Transformation will be hosting a Quanta Fun Walk to raise funds for the Randfontein community. The walk will kick off at the Culemborg Centre at 8.30am, proceed to Sungate Farms and then return to the Culemborg Centre, covering a distance of 6,4km. Louis van der Westhuizen, the CEO of Quantum Dynamica Transformation and Health, said, “Dynamic Transformation is a registered NPO campaigning to raise funds. The money we collect is relayed directly into the community. • 29 June to 1 July: ICON Comics and Games Convention at Emperors Palace

ICON CGC returns to South Africa for its 2018 instalment. Having been running for 26 years, this is the country’s longest-running comic, gaming and popular culture convention. Geeks of all ages can head to The Palace of Dreams, Emperors Palace to gather, shop and play at this signature event. There will be plenty of tabletop and board-gaming warfare, cosplay competitions and plenty of fun for all, whether you’re full-on geek or geek-curious. • 1 July: German vs Jap Car Show at the Nasrec Expo Centre

This is a great event for the whole family, showcasing all the latest in German and Japanese cars. Car clubs and other enthusiasts will get together with friends and make some new ones. • 23 November: SA’s favourite comedian is back on the big screen

Strap in and hold on tight to your seats, because funny man Leon Schuster is back with a brand-new quirky comedy complete with hilarious incidents and an inspiring storyline that will keep audiences captivated until the credits start rolling.
