Men arrested with nine bags of dagga

Man, 36, arrested by the Westonaria Police for being in possession of nine bags of dagga.

A 36-year-old man was arrested by the Westonaria Police for being in possession of a quantity of dagga early on Tuesday, 26 June.

He is expected to appear in court soon.

The success comes after police conducted routine patrols around Westonaria.

Warrant Officer Raymond Sebonyane, the Westonaria Police spokesperson, said, “At about 8am, two police constables spotted a suspicious-looking man at a four-way-stop on the N12/ R28. They stopped and searched him and found compressed dagga wrapped with sellotape inside the bag.

“The suspect was then arrested for being in possession of dagga and detained at the Westonaria Police station.”

Colonel Selvan Moonsamy, the Westonaria Police station commander, commended the members for their vigilance and job well done.
