Child airlifted to hospital after near-drowning
Three year-old-boy airlifted after near-drowning in Carletonville yesterday.
A three-year-old boy was hospitalised after a near-drowning incident at a swimming pool facility in Carletonville yesterday (14 June).
Ineke van Huyssteen, ER24 spokesperson said paramedics found a boy lying next to the pool shortly before 2pm.
“It is understood that bystanders who had noticed him floating in the water pulled him out and immediately administered CPR,” Van Huyssteen said.
She said the paramedics took over the assessment and treatment before transporting the boy to hospital for further stabilisation.

“From there he was airlifted by the ER24 Oneplan medical helicopter to another hospital for further medical care. The details surrounding this incident are not yet known.” Van Huyssteen added.
