Seven kids injured when taxis collide on Lang Street

Multiple children injured in crash on their way to school earlier this morning.

Seven children were left injured following a collision between two taxis on Lang Street in Carletonville on Friday morning (8 June).

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson said, “ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene shortly after 7am to find one taxi across the left-hand lane, while another had come to a stop against a tree.

“Paramedics assessed the patients and found that seven children, aged between six and 12, had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries or fatalities.

Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

“It is believed that the children were on their way to school when the collision occurred,” he explained.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
