Our very own Prince Harry and Meghan

Newlyweds: The fact that our special day coincided with the big day of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, was nothing but coincidence.

Delano and Bonita Dobson of Hillshaven met in Libanon about a year ago.

They hardly thought they would soon be head over heels in love with one another.

They also did not think their nuptials would coincide with those of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Saturday, 19 May, but that’s what happened. Their special day will now go down in history and will forever be remembered.

The two young love-birds, both 21, said their wedding day was made extra special because they celebrated with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“It was a very special day for me, as I found my prince,” Bonita said.

The couple said even though their event was not as big as that of Prince Harry and Meghan, it couldn’t have been happier.

“The fact that our special day coincided with the big day of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, was nothing but coincidence,” Delano said.

“However,” said Bonita, “it meant a lot to us.” After one of Delano’s friends introduced them last year, they wasted no time as they fancied one another right away.

Today, the couple is living as a family with their four-month old baby.

Before they tied the knot, they said, they endured several ups and downs that tested their relationship. But still, they would not trade each other for anyone else. They believe they belong together and will forever be there for each other.

“Especially when I went to jail for a few days – I thought Bonita would change her mind about me!” Delano said.

Asked how they describe their love for one another, the couple said no words could begin to sum up what they feel for each other.

“It is really indescribable. And we are so blessed by having a baby who was born on 10 February,” Delano said.

The couple said even though they knew they would end up together, tying the knot has made them
appreciate each other even more.
