• 10 to 13 May: National School of the Arts presents Dance Spectrum in Johannesburg

The world gets tipped over, and the descending snowflakes become a dance spectrum journey not to be missed as the National School of the Arts stages its annual flagship production this May. The production runs from 10 to 13 May on The Mandela stage at the Joburg Theatre. A double bill and a trio of dance organisations make up the production, which will feature an eclectic fusion of choreographic influences including pantsula, hip-hop, Chinese and Indian dance. • 12 May: Ekasi Cake Show in Soweto

The Ekasi Cake Show is happening at the Umthombo Wolwazi Hall. See over 20 top Sowetan bakers who will be exhibiting their baking skills. • 12 May: Neymar Jr’s Five in Sandton

For the love of soccer, come and be part of this amazing event at the Discovery Soccer Park. Neymar Jr’s Five is a global five-a-side tournament bringing players from all corners of the world together to celebrate their shared passion: football (soccer). • 15 May to 10 June: The Buddy Holly Story at Emperor’s Palace

South African superstar, Brendan Peyper, is to play the role of Buddy in the brand-new musical, Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story, written by well-known West End author Alan James, which is to be presented at the Emperor’s Palace’s Theatre of Marcellus from 15 May to 10 June 2018. Buddy Holly was very young when he was killed in a plane accident. Although he was only 23 when he died, he was said to be the real pioneer of rock’n’roll. In his brief life, he wrote many more hits than most other singers. One only has to think of songs like Peggy Sue, That’ll be the day, Oh Boy, Maybe Baby, True Love Ways, Heartbeat and many others. Just In Time Baby Sanctuary in Greenhills, a registered non-profit organisation that looks after abandoned, abused and neglected babies, will be hosting its first Golf Day at the Randfontein Country Club in conjunction with Biz Fusion Consulting. Georginia Caetano, Just In Time Baby Sanctuary CEO and founder invites individuals and companies to participate and assist them financially so that they can continue taking care of the babies. They are currently only permitted to care for six babies at a time, but they have great plans to expand during 2018, so that they can help more babies. • 9 June: Saturday Social Club at Emperors’ Palace

The Saturday Social Club is a brand new series of music concerts taking place throughout the year at the Red Roman Shed.
