Tambotie Mall celebrates its first birthday!

Tambotie Mall celebrated its first birthday last weekend!

Tambotie Mall celebrated its first birthday on 27 and 28 April with 62 prizes and gave its two of its luckiest shoppers holidays to Umhlanga Rocks in KwaZulu-Natal.

“The mall is still growing, so we did not have a big celebration. However, we approached our tenants to contribute to the prizes for the celebration,” said the Manager of Tambotie Mall, Lenette Nordin.

Lenette said the birthday celebration was well-received by the retailers, who chipped in handsomely to the festivities.

Lenette also said there were other shops that contributed from their hearts for the celebration.

“We put the prizes in the balloons and gave the first half away on Friday, and the other half on the Saturday.

“People popped balloons and whatever they found in them became their prizes, which they then collected from the donor tenants,” Lennette said.

Among the prizes that were given away were two week-long holidays.

“One holiday will be in June and the other will be in November or December this year.”

Lenette also said there were other shops that contributed from their hearts for the celebration.

“Checkers baked cupcakes for their first hundred customers; Petco had a clown and face painting; and Be Enchanted Hair, Nail and Beauty Salon also celebrated their birthday outside, and treated their customers.”

“Everyone was very was excited about the prizes they won. In general, people participated, although there were those who did not want to pop the balloons at first, but as soon as we said there were prizes inside them, they agreed excitedly.

Checkers baked cupcakes for their first hundred customers.

Overall, we had a good response and the customers were very happy to receive their prizes. This made the celebration a great success.”

Lenette also said that before the end of the year, the mall will be expanded with a few new outlets.

“We are going to be building outside. Burger King will be situated opposite KFC, and behind Checkers, we will have a Tyre Mart, and a Plumblink store.”

Regarding Phase 2, Lenette said it will be a while before they start building.

“We are still trying to get tenants in and leases signed. I think Phase 2 will only start next year, in June and July,” she added.

Tambotie Mall was officially opened on 27 April 2017.
