Get to know a ‘Teiner #62 — Basetsana Makgopela

The 62nd person in the Herald's Get to Know a Randfonteiner project introduces herself.

Meet Basetsana Makgopela, a 14-year-old Grade 9 learner of Randfontein High School. She has been living in Greenhills all her life.

Basetsana told the Herald that she is not ready to live anywhere else as she loves the people in her neighbourhood.

She said for now she wants to enjoy all her interests, among them singing and dancing, but she will later focus on acrobatics and choreography.

“I absolutely love acrobatics as I really have a passion for gym. I have the body for it and I am flexible,” she said.

She said has received many accolades for the sport and believes she will become a shining star. “I won four medals in the competitions that I have taken part in. I am trying to combine it with choreography, because I want to be a professional dancer,” she added.

Life is not all fun and games to her though. She is also determined to perform well academically and wishes to eventually become an accountant.
