Two killed as car and bus collide
Crash between bus and vehicle in Westonaria on Monday leaves two dead, another two seriously injured.
Two people were killed and another two people sustained severe injuries in a crash between a bus and light motor vehicle in Westonaria during the afternoon of 23 April.
Werner Vermaak, ER24 spokesperson, said the accident took place at about 3.30pm on Libanon Road.
“Paramedics from ER24 and local emergency services arrived on the scene where they found two people with fatal injuries trapped inside the light motor vehicle.
“Sadly, there was nothing that paramedics could do for them and they were declared dead. Three people, of which two were in a serious condition, were found in the bus. They all sustained various injuries.

“The ER24 Oneplan Medical Helicopter was called to the scene to airlift one of the patients to the hospital. Two patients were rapidly transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance for further care.”
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are not yet known, but local authorities attended the scene and will conduct an investigation.
