Man arrested with stolen PlayStation

Young man arrested for being in possession of a stolen video game console.

Bekkersdal Police recently arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly stealing a PlayStation console at a plot on Santos Steet, Zuurbekom.

The well-known video game console was apparently stolen at about 4pm on Thursday, 19 April.

The arrest was made when the police were conducting their routine patrol duties in Zuurbekom when they were approached by a man who claimed that his house had been broken into. He had information about where his stolen property was allegedly being held.

The police followed up on the information and found a man with the stolen property at a plot on Santos Street.

When the police questioned the suspect, he was unable to explain how he came to have the PlayStation. He was immediately arrested and charged with the possession of stolen property. Police said the suspect is expected to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon.
