• 5 March to 29 April: Peoples’ Theatre presents Alice in Wonderland, Johannesburg

The Peoples’ Theatre is bringing Alice in Wonderland to Johannesburg. What an idea – a crazy, mad, wonderful idea. In March and April, travel down the rabbit hole and join Alice, one of literature’s most beloved heroines, on her madcap adventures. The ever-curious Alice’s journey begins innocently enough as she chases the White Rabbit. Her adventures become increasingly more strange as she races the Dodo Bird, gets tied up with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, raps with a bubble-blowing Caterpillar, is shrunk, stretched, scratched and stuffed into a teapot, and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game! Think it’s impossible? Only if you believe it is. The characters are not crazy, their reality is just different to yours. But you’ll love it. From the Mad Hatter to the Cheshire Cat, the eccentric personalities add to the colourful, psychedelic world of Alice in Wonderland. For more information, call 011 403 1563/2340.
