Father speaks out about bullying of both his sons

The boys have suffered psychological damage after allegedly being victimised and bullied at a local high school.

The distraught father of two local high school boys poured out his heart to the Herald, telling us about the psychological damage that one of them in particular now suffers from after allegedly being bullied and victimised.

The names of the father and the boys cannot be mentioned, in order to protect them from further victimisation.

In an interview with the Herald, the father said that, surprisingly, neither of his sons was bullied or victimised by their fellow learners – it’s the people that should uphold discipline and respect of the highest order, namely the teachers and the upper management of the school, that are the perpetrators.

He mentioned that someone high up in management is known to consume alcohol during the day. This is not the first time the alleged day-time use of alcohol by this person has been brought to the attention of the Herald – it is in fact the third time.

The father claims further that on another occasion a teacher allegedly hit his son in the face with a broom. The broomstick apparently broke and the teacher allegedly stuck the broken piece into his son’s ribs.

The father also alleged that his son, who has had suicidal thoughts and is being counselled, was locked up in a room by teachers, and even had to urinate in the room. He also claims that there are teachers at the school who do not have the necessary qualifications.

The father added that the teachers often swear at the learners and tell them that they are stupid.

The father continued, saying that his youngest son allegedly had his subjects chosen for him, but he intervened, and the boy eventually got to choose the subjects he wanted to do.

“Racism, dagga use, and bullying are all huge issues at this school,” he claimed.
