Man carrying black bag arrested

Another man, this one carrying a black bag on his head, has been arrested for possession of suspected stolen property.

Another man, this one carrying a black plastic bag on his head, was caught and arrested with suspected stolen property in the Westonaria CBD on Wednesday, 4 April.

This comes a day after the police arrested a 27-year-old man also in possession of suspected stolen property in the CBD.

Warrant Officer Raymond Sebonyane, Westonaria Police spokesperson said, “At about 7.30am on Wednesday, Constables Ntomzodwa Mondlane and Thapelo Chokoe were conducting their routine patrols around Westonaria. At a taxi rank in Edwards Street in the CBD, they came across a man carrying a plastic bag on his head.

“The officers approached the man and asked if they could search the bag. They then opened it, and discovered two unassembled TV stands and two chairs.

The man, also 27 years old, was then arrested for being in possession of suspected stolen property and is expected to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon.”

Colonel Selvan Moonsamy, the Westonaria Police station commander again commended the members for their vigilance in light of the many business burglary cases recently reported in the CBD.
