Today’s planned Jacaranda FM Scenic Drive #Straatbraai, which many were looking forward to, has been rescheduled for Friday, 6 April due to the wet weather, the organisers confirmed this morning (Friday, 23 March).
A statement released on behalf of Jacaranda FM reads, “Due to the rainy conditions forecast for Randfontein and surroundings on 23 March, the Jacaranda FM Scenic Drive Straatbraai has had to be moved to 6 April 2018. It will still be taking place at the corner of Mimosa Avenue and Lourie Road from 4pm to 8.30pm, and Rian van Heerden and the team will be broadcasting live from the location.”
Rian, a former Randfonteiner, said, “We were looking forward to the Randfontein Straatbraai with much anticipation, and it’s sad that we can’t do it this afternoon, but we are grateful for every drop of rain.
“We hope to see each and every one of you on 6 April, when we’ll be there in full force – braai-ing up a storm, having a proper ‘kuier’ and playing you more music you love!”
