Westonaria Police are investigating a case of murder, arson and attempted murder after a man was burnt to death and two others shot at the Speruperu Modderfontein informal settlement last week.
A manhunt has been launched for an unknown number of suspects.

Warrant Officer Raymond Sebonyane, Westonaria Police spokesperson said, “At about 1.30am on Tuesday, 2 March one of the victims was burnt to death inside the shack while two others were shot and wounded.
“It is alleged the victims were asleep in their shack when someone started shooting at them through the window. Two of the victims managed to escape, but the other person was unable to get out of the shack.
It is further alleged that the shack was set alight. Later the badly burnt body of the victim was recovered. The motive for the attack in unknown at this stage.”
The Westonaria Police are appealing to the community at large to come forward with any credible information that might assist in the matter.
