On 28 February, the youth of Rand West City underwent a basic first aid course at the Mohlakeng Recreational Centre.

The course is a collaboration between the West Rand District Municipality (WRDM) and Shukushukuma Youth Movement.

They were empowering the youth in matters of first aid at home, at work and at play.

“It is important that we empower youth in first aid, as they are faced with many challenges. Some live with elderly people and others live with youngsters, but most of them have no idea how to save the life of a victim,” said Tshepo Rananke, the Public Relations Officer at Shukushukuma.
