Warrant Officer Raymond Sebonyane, Westonaria Police spokesperson said three years were suspended for a period of five years on condition that the accused are not found guilty of breaking into any property or of theft during the period of suspension.

He added, “On the day in question Constable Hector Makondo and Constable Mkateko Mathe responded to a complaint of business burglary at the store where they heard that the store owner and a security guard had found two men hiding inside.

“The two intruders were searched and R13 300 cash was found on one of them.

Both were charged with business burglary and the case was allocated to detective Constable Orbet Ntlama who made sure that the suspects did not get bail and remained in custody until the passing of their sentence.”

Lieutenant Colonel Hazel Makhafola, acting Westonaria Police station commander applauded the members for a job well done. Makhafola again urged security companies to work hand in hand with police.
