Man busted with bags of dagga

Westonaria Police arrested a man in his 20s early on Tuesday and confiscated more than 30 bags of dagga.

A 29-year-old man was arrested earlier this morning (13 February) for being in possession of dagga.

Warrant Officer Raymond Sebonyane, Westonaria Police spokesperson said, “The Westonaria Intervention Task Team led by Constable Joseph Mlandini was conducting routine stop-and-search operations at about 8.40am when they arrested a man for possession of [bags of] dagga at a taxi rank in the CBD.

“The suspect was detained at the Westonaria Police Station and is expected to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon.”

Lieutenant Colonel Hazel Makhafola, acting Westonaria Police station commander commended the members for their vigilance.
