On Wednesday, 24 January, Randfontein Christian Academy (RCA) celebrated its seventh birthday.
The actual celebration was held two days later, on Friday, 26 January, with a number 7 made up of cupcakes proudly laid out on a table during a special assembly in the school hall opening. There was also some singing, soccer, jumping castles and other fun activities throughout the day.
RCA was established on 24 January in 2011. They started out with 160 learners on the corner of Union and Strydom Streets in Randgate. Since then, the school has moved three times because of its growth.
Principal Chris Ayres said he is proud and blessed to be part of the milestone.
“A seven is in the Bible a Godly number. We are celebrating it in the proper way, thanking God for taking us into the future. We are now stable and in a growing phase.”
In the school hall, he encouraged the learners to be somebody one day and make a impact on other people’s lives for the better.
During the art class, which is now part of the curriculum, Clarisse Venter, RCA spokesperson said, “The whole school is making frames for the 2018 class wall. All grades simply painted a frame with a colour of their choice and each child’s individual photo will go on the wall.”
Chris added, “We have happy and enthusiastic children and thank all learners, staff and parents who celebrated our seventh birthday with us.”
