Celeb visits the elderly in Mohlakeng

Isidingo actor Motlatsi Mafatshe was one of many celebs to visit the Mohlakeng Old Age Home recently.

SABC 3 top soapie actor, Motlatsi Mafatshe, better known as Sechaba Moloi in Isidingo, and members of broadcasting and production houses the Flojo Foundation and Blaq Swan paid the Mohlakeng Old Age Home a visit over the festive season.

According to https://www.tvsa.co.za, Motlatsi also starred as Wandile Dhlomo in the eTV soccer drama Shooting Stars from 2007 to 2010 and as Last Born in the SABC2 drama Hola Mpinji in 2010.

Motlatsi’s presence and energy lit up the room. He was at liberty to sit and engage with them on many topics and even made some recordings with his phone.

He did, however, mention it was sad to know that relatives and families do not pay their elderly a visit during this special time.

Florence Khosa, representing one of the broadcasting and production houses suggested, “Our generation needs to break this cycle and we need more such initiatives. We saw it fit to feed and give back to the community over the Christmas period by spending the whole day cooking and handing out food to the elderly. It is indeed a time to share and the less privileged were excited by our presence.”

Nkali Nzimande, another representative of the broadcasting and production houses added, “Most of us work in the media and behind the scenes. Velaphi Malangabi, a publicist at the Soweto Theatre from Mohlakeng invited us here. We enjoyed spending the day at the old age home.”
