Woman caught breaking and entering

Woman, 32, charged with housebreaking and theft in Simunye.

Bekkersdal Police charged a woman, 32, with housebreaking and theft, which she allegedly committed at a house in Simunye.

Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson said, “It is alleged the victim received a call from her neighbour at about 3pm on Tuesday (9 January) that someone was caught breaking into her place.

She rushed home and found that a woman had broken a window to gain entry and had stolen money. The police were called and she was arrested.”

She is expected to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon.

Colonel Abraham Nkhwashu, the Bekkersdal Police station commander thanked the members for their swift reaction and urged the community to refrain from taking law into their own hands as it is crime and it also hampers investigations.
