Man caught pushing ‘stolen’ motorbike down road

Local police arrest man pushing a motorbike down the road as it turns out to be stolen.

A 33-year-old man seen pushing a blue and yellow Vuka RM 200 motorbike down a road in Westonaria was arrested as it turned out to be stolen.

Warrant Officer Raymond Sebonyane, Westonaria Police spokesperson said, “At about 10am on Tuesday (9 January), Warrant Officer Lesiba Ledwaba and Constable Jacques Volschenk were conducting routine patrols around Westonaria. At De Wet Street in Westonaria, they spotted a man pushing a motorcycle down the road.

“They approached him and asked him where he got the motorcycle (with a Monster Energy sticker on the petrol tank) but he could not give a clear explanation.

He also could not produce any documents. The man was then arrested for being in possession of a suspected stolen motorbike.”

He is expected to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon.

Colonel Selvan Moonsamy, the Westonaria Police station commander commended the members for their vigilance.
