Get to know a ‘Teiner # 47 – Joe Joaquim

The 47th person in the Herald’s popular ‘#Get to know a ‘Teiner’ series introduces himself.

On Wednesday, 10 January, the Herald visited a well-known businessman, Joe Joaquim, 74, to learn more about him.

Friendly Joe, who owns Da Vinci Pizzeria, was born in Portugal and has been residing in South Africa for 62 years.

He has been in the food industry for 22 years. Joe is very proud of the quality of the food he sells and serves the community.

He is married to Nina Joaquim, who also works in the restaurant. They have one child, Duane Joaquim, 34, which lives in Cape Town, and is an excellent dancer.

When asked where in the world he would love to go on holiday, he said Cape Town. “It is just beautiful and I like the people there. It is just very relaxing,” Joe said.

Joe loves Randfontein’s residents, and also thanks them for supporting him. Joe’s motto in life is “Tomorrow is going to be a better day”.
