Four people sustained moderate injuries when two vehicles collided at the N12/ R28 intersection on Saturday evening (6 January).
At about 8pm, paramedics arrived at the scene where they found the two vehicles near the intersection.
The driver of one of the vehicles was still trapped and had to be freed by using rescue equipment. Three occupants of the other vehicle were treated and transported to a nearby hospital,” said Werner Vermaak, ER24 spokesperson.
They all sustained various injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was treated on the scene for possible back and neck injuries and was later transported to a nearby hospital.
“The passenger of the same vehicle was assessed on scene, but later declined to be transported to hospital.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene,” said Vermaak.
