Two people were killed and another two sustained multiple injuries when the vehicle they were travelling in overturned on the N12 in Hillshaven, Westonaria on 1 January.

Werner Vermaak, ER24 spokesperson said, “Shortly before 5pm, paramedics from ER24 and local emergency services found the vehicle standing in an open veld several metres from the road. It had rolled several times.
“All the occupants were ejected from it during the rollover. A man and a woman had unfortunately passed away due to the extent of their injuries. Two other men sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious.”
Quick Response Service (QRS) in a statement said they had transported one of the patients to a nearby hospital to receive further medical care.
Although the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known, QRS added it is alleged the driver may have lost control of the vehicle which caused it to roll. They also would like to thank all who assisted on scene.
