Two killed in Christmas Day crash

Another Festive Season tragedy and car accident left two people dead.

Two people died and another person was injured when two vehicles collided on the R501 near Carletonville on Christmas Day.

Annine Siddall, ER24 spokesperson said ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene at abut 3am and found that a man and a woman had been ejected from one of the cars.

She said, “They were lying about 15 to 30 metres from the car they were travelling in. Paramedics assessed them and found that nothing could be done to save their lives. They were declared dead on the scene. A man who sustained minor injuries was treated by other emergency services on scene and transported to a nearby hospital.”.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
