Woman in possession of drugs arrested

Woman in her late 20s arrested at a house in Bekkersdal for drug possession.

A 29-year-old woman was arrested at a house in the Bekkersdal area for drug possession.

The arrest was made by the Carletonville K9 Unit at about 9am on Wednesday (29 November).

It is alleged that the K9 Unit members were conducting their routine patrol duties when they received information about drug dealings taking place at a certain house in Simunye.

According to Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, “They went to the address where they found a woman. They introduced themselves and stated the reason for their visit. They requested to search the house but did not find anything.

“They requested to search her and find two transparent plastic containers with pills suspected to be drugs, hidden on her body.”

She was arrested immediately for being in possession of a substance suspected to be drugs. She was charged and appeared in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court.
