RPA members go yellow in last function for 2017

RPA: Our networking functions are often a colourful affair and November’s function was no exception.

Members of the Randfontein Publicity Association (RPA) went yellow at their recent and final networking function for 2017, held at Cottage Lodge on Thursday, 23 November.

“It was a great meeting and once again, members (and invited guests) had the opportunity to promote their businesses and learn more about their fellow business owners.

Our sincere thanks to Cottage Lodge for sponsoring the venue and delicious meal, cooked by Lillian Swanepoel. One thing people can say about Randfontein Publicity Association (RPA) networking functions – they are often a colourful affair,” said Joy Hamann, RPA publicity officer.

She added, “Members were invited to wear yellow because it depicts warmth and fun and after a long year, it was decided to keep things light-hearted and fun for 2017’s last event.”

Even the lucky draw prizes were presented in yellow Randfontein Show shopping bags.

The winner of “Best Dressed” was Maryna de Koker from Caxton. Her impressive hat showed effort and imagination. Her prize? A freshly baked cake with yellow icing, of course. This was sponsored by Homelake Delights.

Other Lucky Draw winners were Stanley Mylie from Mobile Home Supply, Lindie Diedericks from Loelins Arts and Crafts, Talitah Helmand from House of Pure Linen and Anton Meerkotter from Coach Anton.

Leon Hefer from Tuinhekkie Blomskuur and Venue presented Marcelle Mans from RCA and Joy with bunches of fresh-cut flowers for all their efforts during the past year. The flowers were yellow, of course.

RPA members and invited guests also had the opportunity to promote their business during the evening and there was plenty of networking on the go once the formal programme was over. Local MAD Entertainment artist, Linda Killian sang a few Christmas songs and her husband, Andre, provided the sound.

RPA Chairman, Roy Harris, gave members a bit of background as to how the Publicity Association was formed and wished everyone a blessed Christmas.
