With Christmas being just a few short weeks away, it’s time to start celebrating the festivities at the annual Montecasino Christmas Village from 29 November to 3 December. Join them for a magical family experience, complete with a festive market, movie screenings and traditional seasonal treats. This is just the place if you would like to explore and experience the wonder of a traditional European Christmas Market without the cost of a plane ticket! Montecasino’s Christmas Village will once again transform the Outdoor Piazza into a magical village with over 50 wooden stalls bursting with unique gifts, decorations and edible treats; twinkling fairy lights; the smell of freshly baked mince pies; and five outdoor movies on their brand-new big screen. Vir die afgelope 16 jaar hou die Hervormde Kerk, Sionspoort ’n kersmark vir die gemeenskap en vanjaar is geen uitsondering nie. Die mark word vanjaar gehou op Vrydag, 1 Desember vanaf 1nm tot 8nm en Saterdag, 2 Desember vanaf 9vm tot 12 uur die middag op die kerkterrein te Van Deventerstraat 93, Randgate. Volgens dr Johan van Staden, die gemeente se leraar, kan die kersmark se ondersteuners weer eens uitsien na hoë kwaliteit handgemaakte geskenke wat teen baie bekostigbare pryse aangebied gaan word. Unieke geskenke vir die hele familie kan hier gevind word. Die gemeente hou terselfdertyd ook ’n basaar met al die tradisionele eetgoed, musiek, baie pret vir die kinders en ook ’n heerlike verrassing of twee. Die gemeente sluit die feesnaweek af met ’n Kerssangdiens op Sondag, 3 Desember om 7nm, waartydens die gewilde Henry van Dyk en Esté Pienaar saam met die gemeente se koor gaan optree.
