JUST IN: Parts of town without water

Burst pipe leaves residents without water.

Residents in parts of Randfontein have been without water since yesterday.

The Herald could confirm on Saturday that a contractor damaged the main water pipe in Freda Avenue, Homelake on Friday, 24 November.

According to Craig Harrison, local ward councilor, “Contractors are currently busy repairing the pipe. The new pipe and all material needed to repair the damaged pipe is on hand. Repair work has started.”

The estimated time of repair is not yet known.

We ask the community to please be patient.”
