Mohlakeng school to get state-of-the-art ICT lab

Phandulwazi Primary School in Mohlakeng is one of two schools on the West Rand to be handed a state of the art ICT lab.

Learning will never be the same again for learners of Phandulwazi Primary School in Mohlakeng. The school is one of two schools in the West Rand region to receive a state-of-the-art ICT lab with 60 tablets, LAN server, printer and internet connectivity.

The handover event will take place at Phandulwazi Primary School from 9am on Thursday, 23 November. The other school is Badirile Secondary School in Khutsong, Carletonville.

According to a statement released by Gauteng Provincial Government, “In this age of digitisation, technology plays an important role in the education curriculum. Schools around South Africa are already using technology to give learners quality education. It is this idea that resulted into Gauteng Department of e-Government partnering with Altech Radio Holdings (ARH) to build ICT laboratories in two schools in the West Rand Region.

“This enhanced learning environment will offer a hub of information on subjects such as Mathematics; Physical Science and Geography and Life Sciences.

The learners are further equipped with an opportunity to conduct a research on variety topic using the limitless Wi-Fi. There is also renovation work done at the schools. This includes painting of buildings, replacement of windows and door handles,” the statement read.
