Robbers target house and owner, then female visitor

Two robbers, one of them armed, are still on the loose after robbing a man's house, and stealing a female visitor's vehicle.

A 29-year-old man living in Simunye had a rough time at the hands of a couple of intruders at about 4.45pm on Friday, 10 November.

Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, confirmed that they are investigating a case of house robbery and theft of a motor vehicle.

“It is alleged that the victim was alone at his home when he was accosted by two men, one armed with a firearm. They dragged him inside the house and bound his hands with a tie. They pushed a towel into his mouth and started ransacking the house.

“While they were busy, they noticed that someone was entering the yard. They waited until the person reached the door and pounced on her. They bound her hands and left her next to the victim, and drove off in her VW Golf 7.”

The suspects are still at large.
