A creative Movember at Melktandjies

Movember raises awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men's suicide .

Melktandjies Kleuterskool kicked off Movember on a high note with everyone wearing moustaches and ‘shoe-staches’ during the week’s activities.

Movember is an annual November event during which men grow moustaches to raise awareness about men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer as well as suicide among men.

On Friday, 3 November, the toddlers made flapjack moustaches during their ‘Bak-en-brou’ session. They also played ‘pin the moustache on the baby’ – a game similar to the well-known game ‘pin a tail on a donkey’. They also made ‘shoe-staches’ and the parents had the opportunity to take selfies of their own moustaches.

The children and parents had a wonderful time while getting to understand the true meaning behind ‘Movember’.
