According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson, “It is alleged by the 59-year-old woman that the intercom was activated and her brother, 57, went to attend to it. Two unknown men were at the gate, pretending to be interested in buying the premises.

When the brother returned to the house, he was allegedly followed by the two men, who were armed and threatened the victims with a firearm,” Ernst said.

Ernst continued, saying, “The victims were forced to the floor and the men ransacked the house. They took electronic equipment and a cellular telephone. The men then left in an unknown vehicle. No injuries were reported.”

Police urge any person who might be able to assist in the investigation to call the Trio Task Team on 082 413 2635.
