Young man with a stab wound dies outside hospital

Murder investigation launched after man, 21, had died on arrival at hospital.

Bekkersdal Police are investigating a case of murder after a 21-year-old man, who sustained stab wounds, died on arrival at a local clinic last week.

The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday, 2 November in the Spooktown informal settlement. The police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect(s).

“It is alleged the victim was spotted running with his hand on his chest. He then fell on the ground.

He was found to have an open wound to his chest and was rushed to the Bekkersdal West Clinic where he died on arrival. The motive for his killing is still unknown to the police,” said Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson.
