Man dies after fist-fight in Vleikop

Man, 42, killed during fist-fight with 36-year-old in Vleikop last weekend.

One man was killed and another arrested after a deadly fist-fight next to a road in Vleikop during the evening of Saturday, 28 October.

Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson said, “It is alleged that at 5.45pm, a 42-year-old and a 36-year-old man had a physical altercation. The older man fell to the ground and bled from his nose and mouth. An ambulance was called to the scene but on arrival the paramedics certified him dead.

“No weapon was used – the men were involved in a fistfight. The suspect was arrested at the scene.”

Brigadier Manamela, Randfontein Police spokesperson added, “This death could have been prevented if the argument hadn’t become violent. We condemn any form of violence.”
