• 18 October to 31 December: Total 80s Party at Silverstar’s Barnyard Theatre in Krugersdorp

Get ready for the most daring 80s rock show ever – this includes retro fashion, dance and music. The show features a colourful and versatile cast that will rewind to synth pop, new wave and arena rock in the most authentic 80s style. • 21 October: Dikonokono tsa Bomme Women Empowerment Experience in Mohlakeng

Dikonokono tsa Bomme is an organisation of Christian women from different churches on the West Rand that wants the community to pray for Randfontein and beyond. The organisation cries out for the restoration of families, for love, purpose and peace among the youth. They also wish to heal broken relationships between families and children. They believe that praying together is key. Lunch will be served and a traditional look is required for the day. Details: Contact Naomi on 082 6639 2536.

• 21 and 22 October: The BMW M Festival at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Midrand

Fasten your seatbelts, rev your engines and get ready for an adrenaline-packed weekend at the first-ever BMW M Festival taking place at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit. • 21 October: Botsisa Bopapago Charity Comedy at Silverstar in Krugersdorp
Silverstar proudly presents Limpopo’s finest comedians, Mashabela Papago Galane and Collin Salesman Chepi, for one night of pure comedy. The dynamic duo’s national tour, Botsisa Bopapago, which will be in aid of charity, is a seamless balance of their diverse senses of humour and unique ways of storytelling. Proceeds from the show will go towards study materials for learners with disabilities. • 21 October: Muddy Puppy and Fun Run/ Walk at Meyers Farm in Alberton

Dog lovers, here’s a fun obstacle course that you can do with your furry bestie! The Muddy Puppy Spring Challenge is an obstacle course fun run or walk for you and your dog. You and your four-legged comrade will have to crawl, climb, jump, slip, slide, wag, bark and maybe even endure a little bit of mud to make it across the finish line. This is the perfect activity if your dog loves the outdoors and being active. There will also be a 4km Family Fun Run/ Walk, so if you don’t have a pooch and just want to get out and have some fun with your loved ones, this is the one for you. Medals will be awarded to all finishers. This is going to be a fun day out with lots of stalls, music and entertainment. Proceeds from this Muddy Puppy event will be donated to Yorkie Rescue SA. Please note that when booking for Muddy Puppy, to select your batch carefully as there will be no swapping of batches due to safety reasons for all participants.

• 27 tot 31 Oktober: 500 Jaar Fees in Randfontein
Op 31 Oktober 1517 het ’n monnik, Martin Luther, die wêreldgeskiedenis verander deur 95 stellings op sy Kerkdeur vas te spyker. Daar is gesê ons hele kultuur en bestaanswyse het verander. Ook in Suid-Afrika. Vanaf 27 tot 31 Oktober word een van die grootste landwye herdenkings hiervan op Randfontein gevier. Dit begin met ’n Oktoberfest, word voortgesit op die 29ste en bereik ’n hoogtepunt wanneer kerkleiers Gauteng en Noordwes in die dorp kom feesvier. Replikas van die Wittenberg kerkdeure wordfeestelik om 9vm geopen. Die hele Randfontein kan kom deelneem en feesvier by die “ou” NG Kerk Helikonpark.
