Body found floating in local dam

A man's body has been found floating in the Donaldson Dam between Randfontein and Bekkersdal, police say.

Bekkersdal Police need help in locating the next of kin after a body was found floating in Donaldson Dam.

According to Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, “We need assistance from the community in locating the next of kin of a decomposed body that was found floating in the dam near Bekkersdal at about 10.10am on 28 September.

“It is alleged the police received a complaint about a dead person floating in the dam. They proceeded to the scene where they found the badly decomposed body of a man.

He was wearing a blue worker’s uniform, a black hoodie sweater, a blue T-shirt with yellow markings, and brown boots. He’s estimated to be about 45 years of ages. He was taken to the Carletonville Government mortuary.”
