The traffic officers have planned a schedule for the month which they will be acting on daily. They will be targeting taxis, heavy trucks and all the motorists making use of public roads. The Traffic Department believes that accidents are often the result of unroadworthy vehicles.

People should follow the rules of the road and that is why we are targeting everybody using public roads,” said Solly Mogapi, Assistant Superintendent of the Randfontein Traffic Police.

The Department will embark on an operation with the Taxi Association during which they will go to the public taxi ranks in Rand West City. The Department feels that by working together, they will be better able to identify problem areas.
