Get to know a ‘Teiner #35 – Edith Madau

The 35th person in the Herald's Get to know a Randfonteiner project introduces himself.

Meet this week’s Randfonteiner, the 35th person in the Herald‘s #Get to know a ‘Teiner series – Edith Mudau.

Edith, who is 49 years old, grew up in Musina in the Limpopo province but moved to Randfontein with her family in 1999. Edith is a domestic worker and and has four children. She is well known in the community for being friendly and always looking out for others.

I love Randfontein. The people are all so easy to get along with – like one big happy family,” she said.

Edith believes the two malls in town are big assets to the community, and because they are close to one another one can visit both on the same day.

She told the Herald that she will never be rude to someone and never gets angry.

“I believe that I am a good person because I do not drink or smoke,” said Edith.

Edith is a mother of prayers and said she prays for the community and the children of R’tein every day. She told the Herald that she would give her last money and food to people who are struggling.

She lives for her children and whatever she does, she does to make them proud. Her big dream in life is for her children to be successful, happy and live their dreams.

The community knows her as Makhadzi, meaning aunt, because she always looks out for children and takes care of them.
