Certificates aplenty for RCA at Raca

RCA exceeded expectations at a recent Raca event.

The Randfontein Christian Academy (RCA) exceeded expectations at a recent Randfontein Arts and Culture Association (Raca) event.

“Judging by how spectacular the event was, the coaches must have worked very hard throughout the year,” commented Clarisse Venter, the school spokesperson.

Thousands of participants enter each year in different categories. RCA decided to enter numerous choral verse groups. They achieved three platinum certificates (between 90 and 94 percent) and one outstanding diamond certificate (between 95 and 100 percent).

The Grade 5 and 6 children blew everyone away with their outstanding diamond certificate for “I never want to go to bed”.

The Grade 1 and 2 children did a piece called “Not so fast food”. The Grade RR to Grade 4 children did a piece called “Opposite Day”, which was a big favourite with the crowd. The Grade 3 and 4 children did a fresh piece about smartphones called, “My brother ate my Smartphone”. The Grade 5 and 6 children blew everyone away with their outstanding diamond certificate for “I never want to go to bed”.

Joshua Pretorius, a learner from the school, performed two solo piano pieces and walked away with two platinum certificates.

The school is very proud of all the groups and Joshua for the effort, time and passion that they put into their performances, and congratulated them all on their amazing talent.
