Slovodj, a rising disc jockeying star
Nhlanhla Slovo Sibeko, 25, from Mohlakeng to release his first ever CD.
Nhlanhla Slovo Sibeko, 25, better know as Slovodj is bringing out his first ever CD called Slovodj featuring Dubfunkers SA and DJ Snacker.
Sibeko, a single father of a two-year-old fell in love with disc jockeying in 2009. He realised that music was the way to go for him, but only started taking it seriously in 2012.His favourite genres are house and dance, and he composes his songs from his home-based studio.
This CD will offer a peep into his exciting upcoming full-length album. Sibeko composes and produces his own music, and his public relations right-hand man, Bafana Ngubeni, supports him all the way.
At the Sentlhageng Pub and Grill in Mohlakeng, we surprised customers with Slovodj‘s music. The 20 copies he took with him were all sold,” said Ngubeni.
Surprisingly, Sibeko loves all kinds of genres of music. He also feels that there is a lot of talent in Mohlakeng, but getting exposure for it is challenging. The Herald asked him whether he would consider leaving South Africa to go overseas if he ever became a star performer. His answer came quickly, “I would never leave my family behind.”
Sibeko/Slovodj says his music relates to situations and people, and feelings. He will start entering big competitions soon.
