Horror vehicle-truck crash kills one

Man killed, another injured when truck and light motor vehicle collided on the N12 outside Carletonville yesterday.

A man was killed and another injured when a truck and light motor vehicle collided on the N12 outside Carletonville early yesterday morning (Monday, 4 September).

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson said, “ER24 paramedics along with other services found the wrecked light motor vehicle in the left-hand lane of the road. The truck had come to a stop just a short distance away.

“Paramedics discovered the lifeless body of a man lying trapped inside the light motor vehicle. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his multiple injuries. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.

“The driver of the truck, a man, was assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries. He was treated for his injuries and transported to a nearby hospital for further care.”

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
