Brand-new ICU for Lenmed R’tein Private Hospital

After the opening the guest had a tour through the ICU.

Randfontein Private Hospital opened their newly renovated Intensive Care Unit on 27 August.

It used to have only five beds, but the new unit boasts 10 new beds, new cardiac monitors, new ECG machines and new macerators. The unit has a more spacious feel and modern aesthetics, incorporating beds that are well-partitioned, new flooring, three isolation rooms and a new visitors lounge.

The project kicked off on 13 March and the hospital management is very happy about the new look, feel and standards that have been set. According to hospital manager, Leonie Beaurain, plans are already in place for further renovations across the hospital.

Approximately 40 guests, ranging from managers, surgeons to practitioners, attended the opening. The hospital CEO, Prakash Devchand cut the ribbon for the official opening of the ICU. The guest then had a tour of the ICU.

“We are very proud that our licence for a bigger department was approved,” said Leonie.

The maintenance manager in charge or the upgrade told the Herald that the renovated ICU is a large improvement on the previous one and only the best health-care technology will be available.
