More join RPA networking family

Several new members joined the RPA's networking family following a recent get-together session in Loumarina.

The Randfontein Publicity Association (RPA) hosted another successful networking function in Loumarina on Thursday, 24 August.

“Vredenvlucht Coffee Shop and Deli sponsored the function venue and a light meal and there were several new members who attended the function,” said Joy Hamann, the RPA Publicity Officer.

Joy added, “Networking is a good way to get to know other business owners in Randfontein and the perfect opportunity to expand one’s network of contacts. An interesting question was raised by one of the guests from Business Networking International, Wilhelm Steyn. He asked members if they were attending the meeting in order to sell their product or business or if they were there to buy. This really got people thinking about why they were there.”

Many people attend these functions but do not do enough to educate the other members about what it is they do and how their businesses operate. The purpose of networking is to educate others about your business and to ask for referrals.

Marcelle Mans, RPA Managing Director told members about the upcoming Randfontein Show in 2018 and said preparations had already begun for the big event that takes place at the Greenhills Stadium from 1 to 4 March.

There were also a couple of lucky draws in between the ’60 second’ opportunity each member had to promote their business.

“After all the official business was over, RPA members made use of the opportunity to chat to other members and all in all, it was a very successful evening,” says Joy.
